gcMonk
In sugarland, TX....i think it is not a problem...however; I had valid reason coz my wife was due in March 1st week, so did early walk and they said they are fine. I think there shouldn't be any problem. But most of them mentioned that some centers might not agree. So post ur center where u need to take ur FP, so that people who had been to FP will let you know. Kumariah Thanks for your reply. I have not received FP notice yet. But wanted to see if it is a possibility. Link to comment

sashikanth
I received my EAD/AP by postal today. Same day received my FP notice. I called USCIS after 30 days for not receiving FP. Called on Tuesday and received FP notice by Saturday. My FP is March 27th. Did anyone made an early walk in at Oxanard, CA? Could I go for walk in? Do we have to tell them any reason or could go just like that? Do we have call them before we go for walk-in? Link to comment
malya
If you have any reason for early walk-in you can provide proof. else, try your luck. Call wait time is 30 days after your initial receipt date. Make sure your spouse to be in the call if you were applying together. Contact number will be on your receipt. Any one could answer my questions above? highly appreciated. Link to comment
hollykick
NSC my ND is Jan 27th, and i am still waiting for FP notice, no updates as yet from the time i got the receipts . Where do you guys call when there is no FP receipt , how long does it take .. Also i dont see any rule that says wait for a month ... and then call .. it can obviously take more isnt it .. i am not sure once again why i see random FP notices ... based on this i guess nobody from NSC living in san jose should have got FP notice if they applied in feb. If they did , then these are randomly processed. my PD in may 2008. Link to comment
hollykick
nothing gets updated for finger print notices. nor would u receive SMS / EMAIL updates How is that possible ... currently by I485 says it has been accepted, and i guess the next stage is initial investigation, so only when it reaches there will i get an FP notice , the moment it reaches there we do get a notification of stage change isnt it. mumora
Experts, pls post some comment. Thanks Hello Experts, We have applied for AOS and EAD recently. We did not apply for AP as we have the visa stamped untill end of 2013. I was under the impression that we can travel using the visa.I have been working for employer A for last 7 years and employer B is the sponsor of my GC. Once I get my EAD , I will be joining employer B. My concern is, Can we use the visa stamped for travel purpose until it expires after joining the employer B? Or did I do a mistake by not applying for AP? Really appreciate valuable comments on this. Thanks in advance! Link to comment

Trust me. my status is in "initial review" and I already got my FP notices, I never received any email or sms till date Link to comment
forum.user
Once you join B, A can cancel your H1B. Even if A is not cancelling your H1, still I think employer B should provide your visa for travelling. At port of entry if office ask you who is your employer, what will be your answer? Is it B or A? Then question will come if you are working for B, then why B is not sponsoring your H1b? Question may continue .... I suppose you should apply for AP. Link to comment
habeebulla
mumora, Once you join B, then your H1 visa in A is abandoned. Then, you cannot use that visa to re-enter. When you re-enter, you need to declare the company you are work for. So, the solution is either transfer H1 to Comp-B or AP. Link to comment
sashikanth
hollykick When I called USCIS requesting them to schedule a finger print notice they mentioned that we have to wait for 30 days from the receipt date. They will take a request only after that. I mentioned my receipt date and hence they had taken my request. With in three days I got FP notice in mail. dush51 yes, we shall associate in sharing our experiences. I had plans to fly India with in next two months. That's the reason for trying an early walk-in, also had to visit client during third week of March. I don't want to re-schedule again. Anyway, did you try to go for a walk-in? My PD is March 2008, once dates are current for many, I heard processing is first come first serve. Link to comment
