H1 Transfer with receipt #

Hi,

I in California and was working on OPT for Company A who had filed for my H1B. Company A laid me off recently and is in process to withdraw my H1B petition. My OPT expired on December 14, 2011 and I'm technically on my 60 day grace period.

Can Company B (my potential new employer) use the H1B receipt # to transfer my H1B petition?

Does this need to happen before Company A withdraws my petition?

Please help!

I suggest to join another Masters and get CPT and work until you know your H1 status.

Yes if you don't have your copy of the approved petition, you can always use your receipt #. Dont have to worry about he withdrawal. You can also get your copy of documents by FOIA
