PERM audit question

Last week my HR notified me that my PERM is in Audit process and it may take several years to process. They thought of doing my GC in EB2 category. I have one year left on my H1b.

One of option we have on table is sending me overseas for a managerial position and bring back as manager. Our assumption is that i fall under EB1 category once I come back to US after 1 year. I have two questions on this scenario.

1. Can I still keep working my EB2 PERM, just to be on safer side, while I am away?

2. Is there any specific qualification they look for EB1 other than one year managerial position.
