H1B transfer before I797 start date

Hi,

I have my new h1b approved starting January'12 from Company A and now another company B has given me offer letter which I am interested in joining.

Is it possible to transfer H1B to company B before my start on company A (which is in January)?

Currently I am on H4 and I will be in work only after I797 start date (in January). And obviously I do not have any pay stubs with me.

Generally, since you are in valid H4 status it is possible to file a new change of status petition for a start date beginning prior to the start date with company A. However, due to the complexity of the situation and the timing issues, it is advisable to speak directly with a qualified U.S. immigration attorney before proceeding.
