Succeessful Visa stamping in Vancouver - Dec 13th

Hi folks,

First of all thanks to Muthry forum and the people who posted their experience. It helped a lot! :) Thanks guys!

Vancouver is such a beautiful place that we will forget all our tensions.

Here is my interview exp

Visa interview date: Dec 13th 2011 - 9:30 AM

EC model (F1 - H1B)

I was there at consulate by 8:40 AM, its pretty cold outside, please make sure you are protected from cold weather. It took me 45 - 50 mins to get inside the consulate (depends upon the line).

Interview Questions: (Counter 5)

VO: Whom do you work for?

Me: I work for XXXXX company

VO: what is your position?

Me: XXX Analyst

VO: Do you have the visa before?

Me: yes, i have my F1 visa and this is my first time work visa (H1B)

VO: When did you graduated?

Me: mentioned year and month

VO: Which department?

Me: Computer Science (also i told my univ)

VO: Did you do your undergrad or Masters?

Me: Masters

VO: When did you get your H1B visa:

Me: i mentioned the date when i first got my H1B visa and this is my extension with the same company.

VO: So do you have the previous I-797 with you?

Me: yes mam!

Your visa got approved and will receive your passport in 3 Business Days!

That's it guys! very simple :)

Congrats prats9 on ur visa. This is definitely good news particularly the fact that very few updates are available after Nov 28 or so @ Vancouver. I have my stamping on Dec 22. I am looking to stay in Days Inn for first day and move out to hostel close by. Where are you staying in Vancouver? Also I am on EVC model, do you happen to know about any H1-B amendments if being asked for?

Suggestions Please:

First time stamping, H1B started Oct 2011 valid till Oct 2014, started working with the current employer from Dec 2011.

Duration worked with old employer: Feb 2011 to Nov 2011

Duration working with Current Employer: Dec 2011 to till date in Verizon(NJ)

Planning to go for stamping , unable to decide the location : Canada(don't know which place to go) or Hyderabad ?
