Adjustment of Status vs. Consular Processing for physicians?

Hi,

I am a J1 physician starting my waiver job with a Federally Qualified Health Center in the near future. I have the option of either getting AOS to H1 for now and visit India 6 months later or file for CP in India.

For physicians who are working with a specific employer, is there a risk in getting CP in India? Should I get an AOS and delay my travel plans? I would much rather apply for consular processing and spend more time with my family in India before I start my job, if it does not significantly increase my risk for a visa rejection.

I would appreciate any/all advice.
