LIB Blanket VISA maximum stay in US

Hi,

I have entered in US in Oct 2007 with L1B visa valid till Oct 2010 .

In Apr 2010 I did restamping of L1B visa and it is now valid till Apr 2013.

But my 5 years od stay will complete on Oct 2012 .

Can I stay in US after Oct 2012 since I have valid visa till Apr 2013 or my VISA will become invalid after Oct 2012.

Please advise.

Ordinarily, a foreign national may remain in the U.S. in L-1B status for no more than five years. After that, the foreign national may generally only return to L-1B status if the individual works at least 1 year abroad in a specialized knowledge or managerial capacity for the employer (or an affiliate/subsidiary/parent of the employer.)
