indranibose
My 6 yrs of H1B will expire on Dec 2012. Changed employer in November and they filed for transfer and asked for 3 yrs instead of 1 yr. USCIS has issued H1B Visa till Dec 2014 which is against H1B provisions (as I will then have H1B for 9 yrs). I contacted my employer and they told me, that they have spoken to the immigration lawyer who confirmed that I am set in gold, there is no need to contact USCIS and get it corrected. I am very perplexed as I sincerely feel, that USCIS should be contated and they should issue me a new I-94 with end date of Dec 2012. I am sure, I will be stuck in my home country when I will go for the H1B stamping. Would appreciate the response from fellow members. Thanks in advance. Link to comment
JoeF
They sometimes make mistakes. You should not try to benefit from it, because they eventually will find out and if you stay past the 6 years, you would end up being illegal retroactively. Link to comment
