Current status as of 11/16/2011: Acceptance

My petition was approved on Friday, Nov 18th, 2011.

The only problem is that it is valid for 1 year. Is this unusual? problem? Can we extend after a while or if I want to do H1B transfer, will this be a problem?

You can always file for an extension within six months of expiration. H1B transfer wouldn't be a problem either. Is your a consulting model or a full time employment?
