Green Card Application is based on the position requirement or based on the candidates qualification ?

Hello All,

I am new to this group,

I have a question on the Green Card processing

I have asked my employer to file my GC in EB 2 category,

The attorney said that the position required is bachelors degree +2 years of experience.

I have Bachelors degree from India and more than 7+ Years of experience including India & USA.

Am i qualify for the EB2 Category ?

and the Attorney said that he will file the GC under EB-3 category, because of the position is required bachelors degree with 2+ years of experience only.

Please let me know.
