Use of AVR with valid I-94

I recently traveled to Canada with an expired visa but a new 797 approval notice with attached I-94.

I was sent in for secondary inspection.

Since I changed my job new 797 was for different employer than my expired stamped visa.

Initially officer said I can not use AVR and I need a new visa stamp.

But I insisted that attorney confirmed that I am eligible for AVR and presented the AVR fact sheet -

At this point he went and consulted couple of other officers and agreed that I was right :)

Just wanted to share my experience .. Hope it helps someone planning to travel to Candaa / Mexico.
