Visa Extension - Canada

Hi:

I am planning to go to Canada for my third visa extension, but my current visa has expired in july 2011. I have H1B extension till 2014. can i go to Canada for visa extension or should i have to go to india for visa extension.

I would appreciate for reply.

Hi sri2829,

Since your current visa has expired, wherever you decide to go (canada or india or wherever) make sure you are ready to wait for few weeks for the stamping. I am not saying it will happen, but it is a possibility seeing other cases. So, just make appropriate plans for atleast 3-4 weeks of being outside US. The US consulate all over india or canada are issuing 221g notices which is taking weeks to get a response. So, plan properly for your stay, food, work etc.
