L1B to H1B COS - and L1B extension

Hi experts,

I have applied for L1B to H1B COS with PP. I might get a decision in 2 weeks.

Meanwhile my L1B employer is forcing me to submit L1B extension papers as it is expiring soon. I am holding off now because I read that if L1B approval comes in later "the last action rule will negate my h1B cos and I will have to go back and stamp h1b again.

I didcussed with my H1B attorney and he says that it is not a issues if the L1B extension comes in later because it is a extension of the status and not a COS from H1B to L1b . Logically he seems correct but from all the posts that I read , I gather that as soon as L1B gets approved, my status automatically goes back to L1B.

Confused ...please help
