Guys,

I have done pretty intense research about the F1 -> H1B first time visa stamp in Canada. I have not come across any case online where any one has stated that they were sent back to their home country for this particular change of status (F1 -> H1B) stamping in Canada.

Again, my lawyer today mentioned that going to Canada for first time stamping is risky even if you have a US Masters degree but he said that you are eligible to go there having a US Masters degree.

The US Consulate in Canada mentions this clause on their website, "Consular officers in Canada may refuse to issue a visa to first-time H1B applicants if the applicant's education and/or work experience is solely or predominantly from a country other than the United States or Canada. In the absence of U.S. or Canadian education or work experience, we strongly encourage you to apply from your country of residence"

If anyone has been refused a H1B Visa from F1 - H1B please mention it here.

Thanks,
