AOS or CP? Which is preferable.

If you want to do AOS, you just file an I-485 when the PD is current.

If you opted for CP on the I-140, the NVC is supposed to contact you shortly before the PD becomes current, basically asking you if you still want to do CP or if you want to do AOS.

JoeF. Thanks for the clarification. Do I need to update NVC about my current address ( my address in the USA)? or NVC will send the documents to the address which was mentioned while applying I-140?

Thanks JoeF,

Do I need to update my USA address to USCIS or NVC? If so, how to do that?

If my PD becomes current ,How NVC will contact me? Through Postal Address or Email?

Thanks

Hmm, way back when my case was with them, I called them, and talked with an operator.

According to http://travel.state..../info_3180.html it is a letter.

I Am in the United States and Would Like to Adjust My Status. How Do I Do That?

When a visa is available for your petition (or if the Department of State believes that one will be available in the next several months), the NVC will send you a letter asking what you plan to do. If you respond that you plan to adjust your status, the NVC will hold your file until a USCIS office requests it. If you do not reply, after 30 days, the NVC will begin processing your petition."
