am185
Hello, I am planning to get my 3 year extension H1-B stamped from Mumbai consulate. I do not have an I-797A with me currently. The reason for this is USCIS mailed the I-797A to the employer, but the employer claims that they did not receive it. Applying for a duplicate would take another 3 months. In this situation, would I-797C (employer's courtesy copy) be sufficient or acceptable? If so, what should be the response to queries from the interviewer regarding non-furnishing of I-797A? Please assist based on knowledge or prior experience in a similar situation. Thanks. Link to comment
