H1 B 7th yr extension, False Domestic violence case pending

This is for one of my friends. Case is not filed yet. H1B 6th year expiring on Feb 2012. Green card Labor and I140 approved.

False Domestic Violence case pending , charged with misdemeanor A, what would be the impact on H1 extension?

First, why doesn't your friend directly?

Second, why is the domestic violence charge false? Who says so?

Third, domestic violence is a very serious issue. Your friend should see a good lawyer.

Because he is busy finding a good lawyer to save himself from being deported and has asked me for help to search info online. He says his wife has put false charges on him. She has taken away his daughter and he cannot even see her. He is trying to find a good lawyer but hasn't found any yet, who can give some hope. He has found a criminal lawyer. He is looking for an immigration lawyer. Should he go to his company's immigration lawyer? Should he inform his company first or find an immigration attorney from outside. Please advise. Its urgent.

Well, I am sure that his wife doesn't think the charges are false.

So, he only claims that the charges are false. That doesn't necessarily make it the truth. It could well be that a judge agrees with the wife.
