Regarding appointment letter from embassy for canada visiting visa data

Hello all,

Do we need to have the approval letter from the embassy to book a slot for Canada visiting visa.Did anyone do this before..(or) Can we just mention the reason for visiting canada (visa stamping) .Should that be enough or should we show any proof?

Please suggest!!

Since I had booked my USA visa appointment. I attached a copy of the appointment letter to my Canada visa documents, just to make sure we got the Canada visa.

Nivedita, thanks for the information...if I understand you correctly you attached it just to be on safe side (is it mandatory to attach it..? )

Nope, I don't think it is mandatory to provide US VISA appointment letter for CANADA visitors visa. I knw few of my friends got canada visa with providing appointment letter and they mentioned purpose of visit is to attend US visa inter view in IMM5257.

By the way, when are you planning to attend visa interview and which place?
