Did you have project that was just one year duration or you are working permanent. I am working as a contractor. Client gave me 'Client Letter' till the end of Dec 2011 and my in between vendor gave me Purchase Order till June 2012. My I-140 was approved in Mar 2012. This was my second extension and I have one year on my total 6 years remaining. But I thought that since my I-140 is approved so I should have got a Visa till Sept 2014 instead of Sept 2012. aryanbayarea
@elvis forgot to mention I am with the same client and same vendor from last 5 years. There you go !! You are lucky you got 1 year extension. I have seen cases that H1 gets extended only till the PO date or Client Letter date ( Project date) I am sure if you were a full time employee, you would have surely got 3 yrs extension. elvis
You need to show you have valid work for the time you want the extension.Since you had your contract close to a year you got the extension for a year.People these days get extension only upto the time of contract so you actually got more than that. Transformer
You shouldn't be sad but happy that you got H1 more than the date in your client letter. 140 doesn't automatically makes you eligible for 3 yr extn, it all depends on your project. The MAX is 3 yrs. Link to comment
