I-94 date cut and rewritten by CBP officer

Hello Everyone,

My spouse recently entered the US, on L2 Blanket. While entering the CBP office first out the visa expiry date (2012), later when my wife showed him the copy of my I-94. which has a date for 2014, he cut it right there and wrote the new date.

I know its fine, but now when she applies for an EAD, will they question us back or its fine by them? (I dont know, they might check it up with USCIS and matchg the date for all the EAD applications)

Can anyone suggest here, what should we do? As in, is it fine to apply EAD with a I-94 having cutting on it, or

should we get a new I-94, obvioulsy will have the same date as this one, but neat one?

Any clues, pls.
