Visa Appointment under Renewal Category?

Hi,

I had my last H1b visa stamping done in Sept 2007, and valid upto Sept 2010. I enetered US in March 2008. I got my visa extensions (I797 extensions) and transfers while staying in US. My current I797 is valid upto 2014. I am now going to India on vacation, and plan to get my stamping done in Oct. in Delhi. Does my case make me eligible to get the visa appointment under Renewal category (Since I am staying in US on H1B during the last 12 months period) or do I need to get an appointment under Regular category (Because my stamped visa expired more than 12 months ago)?

Prompt response and advice is highly appreicated as I have to take a visa appointment date as soon as possible.
