MOG Posted November 8, 2011 Report Share Posted November 8, 2011 Your OPT is still the same F1 legal status. Of course, you can stay in the US on OPT until it expires. It doesn't matter if you find a job or not right after your study. I found a job only 6 months after I got my OPT card, then I got H1-B visa with the same employer right after my OPT expired.
