Travel to US with valid unexpired H1B visa while extended visa is pending with 221g

My current H1B visa is valid till end of November 2011. Recently I came to India and went for Visa stamping to extend my visa ,unfortunately I got 221g blue letter with no documents requested.

They just mentioned they need additional administrative processing

My employer is the primary vendor for client.

My question is Can I legally travel to US as I hold valid visa..At port of entry will they stop by saying my visa is pending?

I greatly appreciate quick response on this
