kaervas
Hello, I am supposed to leave next week to Malaysia to give a conference, but I currently only have a F1-OPT visa, my H1-b has been approved (I-797A form) and starts today but I don't have a stamp. Will I need to get a stamp to come back to the US or could I use the OPT without losing the H1-B? What is the best solution for me knowing I am leaving next week and I am supposed to stay there for 1 week? Will I really need to get a stamp in Malaysia, and will it be possible in such short notice? Thanks! Link to comment
pranavi2008
Hi.. after Oct 1st your status will change to H1b, i think you need to get stamping to enter in usa if you are going out...if you are planning to attend in malaysia they will redirect to india coz you are not resident of malaysia.. kaervas
So the OPT will not be valid anymore? I am European but I am sure I could ask a stamp in Malaysia though, the only problem is getting an appointment in time.. I don't want to be stuck in Malaysia where I am supposed to be working in the US the next week? Link to comment
