basker.c@gmail.com
Hello All, I'm on GC for last 4.5 years getting ready to file for citizenship. My husband is on H1B visa for last 3 years. We have been married in US for more than 2 years. Can I do a concurrent filing for my citizenship along with my husband's family based GC. ? I want to get a GC for my husband and what is the quickest route ? (become citizen and then apply ) or doing a concurrent filing is a good option. ? is the concurrent filing VISA slot available ? If I go for concurrent filing what are all the forms do I need to submit ? Please help me out. Thank you. Link to comment
JoeF
There is no such concept of concurrent filing here. You can sponsor your husband now, of course, but there is a quota. You could update the case once you have become a US citizen, i.e., after the oath. Sponsorship without a quota requires you to be a citizen. Just applying for citizenship is not enough. SameerH1Bworker
If you apply for you husband AFTER YOU BECOME US citizen then he will get GC in maximum 6 months. And if you apply now, as you're GC holder, then waiting time is around 5 years. Its simple to decide, its your choice. Link to comment
