Switching Employer on OPT- Extension.

I work for company A(Payroll is run on this company). Then there is a mid-client(B). Then the project I am working on is for company C(End-client).

I have been on the project for almost 7 months. I want to switch from company A to another Employer(D) as I am having issues with them. So the options I had :

1. Get directly on the payroll of the mid-client(B).

2. Find a new Employer(D).

But the mid-client says they cannot put me on their payroll directly. Initially the mid-client was not ready to let me switch from company A to another Employer(D). They said its unethical to do it. Now, They are ready to do it given the condition that they will have to talk to company A. If company A says yes then I can go ahead and switch my employer.

Can anybody give me suggestions on how to tackle this situation as I need to switch my employer as soon as possible.
