Switching jobs within the same company to a different department

I have an offer in a different department of the same company.

The job responsibilities are significantly different - we might be able to draw similaritites but the day-to-day activities are different (one is a computer job and the other doesn't involve that).

My questions are:

1. Do I have to file for a H1 transfer?
