seattleuser
Hi, I am an IT professional on an L1A visa that has just been laid off. However I do have a valid B1 visa that is valid till Nov 2013. Would I be considered legally in status if I continued to stay in the US for the duration of B1 validity even though my I94 is stamped with a category of L1 that is valid till 2012? thx for your help. Attorney_17
No. While an individual can have more than one visa stamp in their passport, an individual can only hold one visa status in the U.S. at a time. You should schedule a consultation with a qualified immigration attorney to discuss your immigration options. Link to comment
