Dependent AP approved and GC Pending while outside Country

My Son's Advance Parole approved recently while he is out of country as he has to go back to India for attending College after giving Finger printing.He was on H4 status while going back to India. H4 Visa was valid till Nov 2013.

Principal Green Card approved recently that is on Aug'02 2011 and his i485 petition is still pending.

What are the best options for him to enter US now? He can use his approved AP while he was outside coutry to come back to US.

OR

If GC approved he can enter US using Green Card.

He is turning age 21 in Dec 12.

Please advise me what are the best options for him.Really confused state.

If he enters shortly, he may use H4. Otherwise, he would need AP.
