I94 submission

I had my I-129 petition (797A) notice for change of status approved recently. I am staying in US currently on F-1 visa enrolled as a full time student. 797 A is valid from june 1st 2011. I am going to India in May and will go for H-1 stamping.

My question is: Is it necessary to submit the I-94 form attached to the 797 A receipt when I leave US in may. As it comes into effect only from June 1st. I mailed the original form to my dad for advance document submission (presumed that original is necessary) and has time as of now to get that back if necessary. I have a copy of it with me.

Please some one guide me, if I need to submit the I-94 that does not come in to effect till June 2011 ( when my status changes from F-1 to H-1)
