H4 Visa prior to H1B Start date

Hi All,

Right now i am on OPT STEM Extension.Recently i got my H1 approval with start date of oct 1st 2011. As my H1b is approved can my wife apply for H4 visa before October 1st 2011, I understand that she cannot enter the US till then but can she appear for her h4 visa interview before my h1b start date.I am working with the same client for more than a year and i have all my OPT period pay stubs and W2's.
