idle123
I've been on H1B for 3+ years now. I'm planning to apply GC with my Employer within few months. Also, I'm in the process of getting married to US Citizen by next summer. So, should I wait for this marriage and directly apply for GC next year after marriage? OR Apply GC with my employer and not be in risk situation? Does it mean that I'll have to apply twice and spend more money than required? What's the best situation here? Link to comment
Attorney_15
Some people seeking the Green Card and having the ability to pursue an employment- and family-based Green Card will initiate both processes. The logic followed by such people is that neither process is guaranteed to reach approval and so pursuing both paths may be beneficial. It would generally be a good idea in such situations to consult with an attorney to consider reasons why one would only pursue one path and obtain specific legal advice. Link to comment
