221g PIMS verification : email from SAO asking more details

Hi, i attended the interview in Aug. was told my visa is approved but given 221g with PIMS verification required. After a week i got an email from ChennaiSAO@state.gov for more information like Professional background, educational background, previous passports held, Brothers and sisters information and countries traveled. does anyone have such experience? what does this indicate?

what you mentioned is exactly what I was asked way back in June, almost 100 days back. I am still waiting. You have not mentioned the VISA you applied , the color of the slip etc..

For me he asked these questions in a separate counter than the 1st one. A pink slip was given to me.
