Existing I-797B (H1b) ( L1 to H1)

I am on L1B since 2 years, and my existing I-797B ( H1b Visa filed in Oct 2008) is expiring Sep 1 2011.

Can I use this existing I-797B

1) and apply for CoS ( Change of Status) - to shift from L1b to H1b

2) Can I shift in November 2011 month , thought I-797B is expiring now ?

3) Can I shift to any other employer other than the one who filed I-797B?

yes you can shift to another employer using the old petition - however you need the a new employer to sponsor your H1

the only benefit you have here is you don't fall under H1 cap. thats all
