H4 extension while H1 is in pending

Hi,

My H1 expires this month (30th sept) . My wife is also here with me in H4. Her visa stamp is also valid till sept30th. My company has already started my H1 extension application, but for my wife's H4 extension I would need my USCIS application receipt (they asked me to do it on my own). What if I don't have enough time to file for her before 30th. Is that going to be a problem or is it that it does not matters for her if I file for mine before 30th ?
