Visa approved, passport retained at Hyd consulate

Hello all,

My wife went for H4 stamping on 25th Sept 2011 @Hyd consulate, after few questions VO went inside(Vo was indian)came back and saw my payslips and said your Visa is issued and you will be receving your passport in 1 week. I thought because of holidays 30 Aug, 1 sept and 5 th sept it was geting delayed.I called DOS they gave my control number, which i try to trackit but it says cannot identify case. So any experienced the same probelm.

I have the same case. I have attended H4 interview on August 9th in the New delhi consulate and was told by VO that my visa is approved but still havent got my passport back. I was not issued any slip and have no case number to track. How did you get any tracking number?

I called DOS they gave me control number. I don't know if there is control number for every visa applicant or it is generated after the case goes to admin process

I am kind of in the same boat. My wife and daughter went for H4 visa stamping on sep 12. The vo said visa issued. Within next three day received daughters passport with VISA. Still waiting for wife's passport with visa.

Please keep updated when you receive your wifes passport.
