Hi ,

I am on H4 and work for a non profit org. they would like to sponsor me "Part time H1b visa" .

1- i would like to know if nonprofit org can file a "part time h1b" ?

2- If yes, what are the documents needed from both of our side to file that?

3-Will i be able to change status from "parttime h1b" to normal H1b in the future if i get any other projects.?

Quick and clear responses are highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

If one is in H-4 status, then they are not authorized to engage in employment. Even if it is unpaid, it may be considered a violation of status.

In general, a not-for-profit can file for a part time H1B; an H1B amendment could be filed in the future for a full-time H1B. The documents necessary for the filing are always case specific.

Please consult directly with a qualified immigration attorney to discuss your status and the issue of unauthorized employment, as well as how to proceed with the H1B petition. Depending on your maintenance of status, this may impact how to proceed with the case.
