When should you apply for H4

Hello all,

I am currently working in OPT and will be converted to H1-b from 1 Oct 2011. I am married and my wife is in India.

I wanted to find out what will be earliest date she should go for her H4 visa stamping? Can she go in Aug/Sept or need to wait till Oct end ?

she can go for a visa stamping as long as ur h1b is valid.

Hi,

Your wife doesnt have to wait for H4 interview till your H1b starts in Oct. She can go if you have the H1b approval notice. She can travel only in the last week of September or in Oct.

I'm in the same situation, if anyone attended H4 Interview before H1 start date, that would set as good example, as i been looking for a while and getting some conflicting answers.
