OPT Cap Gap Travel to India

Hi Everyone,

My STEM OPT expired APril 5 2011 and my employer filed for H1 B and the applications reached USCIS on April 20 2011 and is under initial review still.

Because my application reached after opt expired I qualify for Cap gap but cannot continue working and had to lose my job.On June 21 2011 had to travel to India for emergency purpose.I read forums and noticed that it is very risky to enter US with the Cap gap I20.Are there any options for me to enter US? I would like to come back and enroll in school and then try for a job later.

Please suggest as I am in trouble.
