Birth Certificate Affidavits

Experts please help.

I am going to file my spouse's I-485 on June 1st. She has late reigistered birth certificate and 10th class certificate.

1. Do we still need her parents/relative affidavits?

2. If so, as my spouse's parents came recently to US, can we take notarized affidavits in US itself? If so how can we do this as they are staying in a different location within US. Can they notarize their affidavits without my spouse's presence.

Was the birth cert issued by the appropriate municipal or city authority? Does it contain the DoB & name of the person as well as the names of both the parents as in the passport?

Then I think you are ready to go....

Late Registered means it is not registered at that time of birth. It was registred in recent years from the original birth records and it has all the details including full name and both parents names.

1. I don't think you need an affidavit.

2. Yes, your in-laws can get it notarized because it is their's statement and not your wife's.
