How early can i go for visa interview, before the expiry date?

My H4 and my husband's H1 expires on Mar 3,2012

We applied for extension in premium & hopefully will get the approval in oct,2011.

I (H4) need to travel alone to india for 1 month during november,2011 and want to get stamping at that time itself.

If i visit india, CAN I GO for visa stamping during november,2011 ?

Is it too early or is there any time limit before expiration, to attend the visa interview?

Please advise me. Thanks.
