H4 late filing (using I-539)

Hi All,

My company's immigration law firm missed to extend my wife's H1 and I-94 expired in Jan'2011.

The law firm is filing late extension for H-4 using form I-539.

I wanted some ideas on how to draft the cover letter. Basically, the cover letter says - Mr XYZ apologizes for not filing H4 extension in a timely manner because of high pressure work environment... Both Mr. and Mrs. XYZ urge that this first lapse of responsibility be forgiven so that Mrs. XYZ will not have to return to India to obtain a new visa stamp..

Any advise to improve the letter or better explain the cause ?

I am also facing similar situation. Will you please share your experience like what you did, what was the result of that and what will you recommend to be done in such conditions?
