avasi36
Hi All, Please post your experience, if you went to Canada or Mexico for your 1st stamping(Change of status) holding a US Masters degree. This question is irking majority of Masters students while planning for H1-B stamping.A success story from atleast one of you will boost confidence in so many individuals who are planning to go for stamping. To provide more insight, when I discussed with my attorney, she explained that I can always try going to Canada but I should be prepared to go to India, in case they do not accept my application in Canada.(I work for a fortune 20 firm as full time employee). Guys, your words will be considered and appreciated by many people. Please share your experiences. Thanks Link to comment
leo_maverick
You are safe to go to Canada as they accept first time H-1B applications for stamping provided you have US masters degree, which you do. Link to comment
tusharvk
I have done it outside of my home country 3x. US MS degree. Your attorney's advice is however more relevant to your situation. I would suggest not to ignore it. Link to comment
torontoh1bstamping
Hi, I have done MS from United States. I have done 3 H1 visa stampings so far. 2 H1 visa stampings have been from Canada. I am also visiting Canada next month for my 4th visa stamping. To answer to your question my 1st H1 visa stamping after completing Masters was from Canada. I have always been working as a direct employee for companies where I have been employed to date. Hope this helps. Link to comment
