I am planning to enroll into university course for which I need to switch to F1 visa and start a CPT program so I can still continue to work. I need to travel to India in December for 15-20 days for family event. My university course is starting in Jan 2025 so I need to submit the change of status application well before Jan 2025 so sometime around Oct-Nov. My question is can I travel to India and come back to USA while H4 to F1 application is pending with USCIS? Quote Link to comment

pontevecchio Posted September 24 Report Share Posted September 24 Since your H4 EAD lets you work anywhere and you can study in H4 status, maybe that is the way to go. Travel during a COS nullifies the attempted change. Quote Link to comment
