Questions for 1st time H1B visa stamping in Ottawa, Canada

Hello!

I am applying for 1st time H1 B Visa stamping in Ottawa, Canada. I had following questions :

1)I am on OPT right now, and my H1B is starting from Oct 1st 2011. Do I have to be in H1B for certain days/months to apply for H1B visa stamping or I can apply by Oct 31st 2011?

2)For Canadian Visitor visa application, in the purpose of trip, is it acceptable to say I am going for US H1 B visa stamping or should I say just Tourism?

3)I understand I can drop in my documents in person in Canadian consulate for Canadian visitor visa, but do they take an interview also same time or they ask you to come back? Normally , how long do they take to return the pssport?

It would be a great help if I can get some information.

I m also planning to go for the first time H1 Stamping in October.

Since your H1B starts from October.If you leave the country after September you need H1 B stamping.You dont have be in h1 B for certain days.

@praveen0110: Toronto or Ottawa might be the nearest from NJ, But do double check again.

If you were done with your visa interview, can you please share with us. I am also on the same boat and weighing to chose Canada Embassy. I live in PA.
