SarathRa
Hello, I am on H1B visa status and I recently got my visa stamping on Sep-2022, which is valid until Sep-2025. I went to India and returned on Dec-2023, and due to my passport expiring on 7/30/2024, I got my I94 issued only until my passport expiry date, which is 7/30/2024. I got a new passport on Feb-2024, which is valid until Feb-2034. Then I changed jobs in late Mar-2024 and got a new I797-A until Mar-2027. But since my current I-94 is expiring on 7/30/2024, and though I got a new I797-A approval when I changed jobs, should my I94 date is now 3/24/2027 (as per new I797-A based I-94 date) or the CBP issued I94 date 7/30/2024? Will I go out of status on 7/30/2024? Or would I be fine as I got a new I797-A with I94 date 3/24/2027 (as long as I don’t leave the country until I get a new stamping based on my current I797-A )? I would appreciate your quick response. Quote Link to comment
newacct
You got a new I-94 expiring 3/24/2027. That supersedes any previous I-94s you may have received. The I-94 you received at entry is no longer valid. Your only valid I-94 now is the I-94 you received in the Extension of Stay approval, expiring 3/24/2027. Quote Link to comment
