MihirK
Hi, I am in H1B working for an employer in San Jose. A training institute wants to use my services as a trainer ( 1 day ) and is willing to pay for me. I don't care about the pay -- but I love teaching and would love to teach ( without any pay) What options do I have ? What if they call me as an industry guest ? regards Mihir Quote Link to comment
Zodiac System
Check with an immigration attorney if you can accept 1099 payment for your one day of service as this is not a direct employment. You should be able to volunteer your services (unpaid) to the training institute. Good Luck. Quote Link to comment
Attorney_20
This is probably considered "work" and a status violation if you are in H1B status, regardless of whether you receive pay or not. Quote Link to comment
