US citizen marrying Indian citizen

Hello

I'm a US Citizen. I'm planning to marry an Indian citizen living in India. She has visitor visa. 
starting to look into the visa / GC process for spouse. 
Questions: 

- is there a fiancé visa process ? How does that work ? What is needed to show fiancé relationship

- is it better to marry in India or US? 
- how long is the wait  for spouse visa / GC approval ?
