I am not sure who should I talk to for advise and guidance. I am told labor attorney can help. Anyone can recommend a labor lawyer in NYC and give guidance how to proceed further? JoeF Posted February 20 Report Share Posted February 20 Severance pay is at the employer's discretion. You are not entitled to it. And employment in the US is "at will", which means you can be laid off at any time, without warning. There are only a few exceptions, like discrimination. Quote Link to comment
