MehnaazS
My I-129 Petition just approved for H1B and will be attending visa interview next month in Dubai as I work in Dubai. I married US Citizen last year while in India. Will this impact the visa approval chances in any way if I mention regarding my Spouse details on DS Form 160? Quote Link to comment

You must answer all questions on the DS160 truthfully. Nonetheless, marriage to a U.S. citizen does not affect eligibility for an H1B visa. Quote Link to comment
MehnaazS
Thanks for the prompt reply. Also I have one more clarification. In case if I am asked at the interview why do I want to go for H1B instead of taking Family based immigration route(I-130), how do I convince visa officer about it as I got the employment opportunity prior to my marriage. Just be truthful and explain what you wrote above. The IR green card process is likely to take more than a year. Quote Link to comment
